The Quality Management System adopted by STOLA has been designed and developed according to a "Process oriented approach". This kind of philosophy is considered fundamental by the top Management in order to pass from the out-dated dogma of compliance with product requirements agreed upon with the Customer to a more modern approach, by which long-term performance is ensured through planning, technical and management control, activity measurement and reporting.
A "Process oriented approach" has a significant on company management and owes its success to two basic supporting activities: professional training and communications.
Professional training, in its various forms - updating, hands-on-training, qualification and specialisation - is considered very important on the basis of its expected benefits in terms of operational effectiveness and quality of job activities. This is testified by the company's massive commitment in terms of training hours per year, focusing on the development of skills within the various company roles, both technical and managerial.
On the other hand, a "Process oriented approach" determines the need to upgrade company communication systems and build up the capacity of information flows between the different departments and plants.
The need for streamlined communication processes, minimised transmission times and controlled information flows has motivated the adoption an Integrated management information system [SAP A/3], which enables the different departments and member companies to interact and communicate on the basis of common rules, capture information on the activities underway in real time, facilitate data gathering and analysis, and the relative reporting activities for decision making purposes.
The EAP management system is supported by working methodologies that are planned and shared by means of Management Procedures and Operating Instructions defining the time schedules, responsibilities, modalities and tools to be used for effective technical control of the activities, both in engineering and in production.
Planning activities, technical and management control, reporting, continuous upgrading of human resources, a careful definition of skills, the development of information system are the strong point of the Quality Management system adopted by STOLA in its drive to ensure the satisfaction of the Customer and the strakeholders.
