Stola was founded in Turin in 1919.

At the outset, its core business was the creation of style models and concept cars for leading car makers worldwide.
Subsequently, Stola established its leadership in the production of masters and prototypes and in engineering.

With the integration into the group of companies involved in different productive sectors (sheet metal presswork, B.I.W. production, plastic components and systems), Stola is today able to offer its clients assistance throughout product development at all the different stages:

    • style feasibility;
    • development of section drawings;
    • project development  complete with virtual analysis (structural calculations and DMU);
    • development of prototypes and construction of production tools (gauges, dies, masters);
      industrialisation, production start-ups and production for controlled process technologies (sheet metal
      presswork, plastic dies).

All this is joined at Stola by growing specialisation in the production of niche and highly exclusive cars.

In 1950, Stola began operations on international markets as far afield as Japan and expanded its technological competencies so that, today, production activities also include Brazil and the United States.

In 2004, the RGZ Group, a holding company in the automotive sector controlling Magneti Marelli Aftermarket, Dayco F+F and Vagnone & Boeri, acquired Stola and became its majority shareholder.

The Group thus completed its potential by offering clients support in all the main vehicle and component development process stages, as well as a worldwide sales network: from the supply of raw materials to design and production of models and prototypes, from industrial production of components to the aftermarket and the distribution network.
